Amy Hanks | Over Sea Under Stone
The Evanston Art Center (EAC) presents the exhibition by Amy Hanks | Over Sea Under Stone. The exhibition showcases art inspired by icons, tarot cards, lotería, memoirs, kachina dancers, children’s stories, illuminated manuscripts, and more. It will be on display from September 19 - October 25, 2026 with an opening reception on Sunday, September 27, from 1 - 3PM that will be free and open to the public.
Sarah Sipling Solo Exhibit
Sarah Sipling | Solo Exhibit
The Evanston Art Center (EAC) presents a solo exhibition by Sarah Sipling with art that contemplates political issues focusing on ideas of protest, power, and perception. The exhibition will be on display from September 19 - October 25, 2026 with an opening reception on Sunday, September 27, from 1 - 3PM that will be free and open to the public.

Mack's Bike and Goods Evanston Witches Ride 2026
Join Mack’s Bike and Goods for our annual Witches Ride, a festive community bicycle ride celebrating spooky season! Witches will gather at Mack’s at 5:00 PM and depart at 5:45 PM for a loop through North Evanston along Lincoln and Harrison Streets. Riders are encouraged to dress up, bring candy to toss to little goblins along the route, and light up their bikes for the evening ride. Afterward, join us at The Fat Shallot for an elixir or two and dancing. This year’s ride will also support Sanctuary Evanston and its work with local immigrant neighbors. Pre-registration is required and closes October 25. Helmets and bike lights are required. Questions can be directed to kelly@macksbikeandgoods.com. A complete FAQ available at the registration page!

August is National Dog Month, and August 26th is officially National Dog Day! We love dogs here at Hewn—especially our own Frenchies, Mojo and Elphie—and we are so excited to celebrate with our favorite four-legged regulars.
Bring your pup by the bakery to hang out with you on our front patio! We’ll be handing out complimentary dog treats for your best friends to enjoy while you sip your coffee and eat your favorite pastries. We’ll also be snapping pictures of your pups all day to feature on our Instagram!
Even better, a portion of our sales that day will be donated directly to the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue organization to support the amazing work they do.
